Departments

Town Commission

The Town Commission holds regular meetings on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month as well as special meetings and workshops throughout the year to carry out the legislative responsibilities of their position.  The Town Commission disseminates information, listens to public and staff input and then takes appropriate action in the best interest of the health, safety and general welfare of the residents of the Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea.

Town Manager/Administration

The Town Manager and administrative staff perform all of the managerial and administrative duties assigned to them by the Town Commission, Town Charter and general public.  The Town's administrative staff coordinates all Town departments and programs to ensure projects and responsibilities are carried out efficiently and in a professional manner.  This includes day-to-day operations, Town Commission requests and federal and state mandates.  In addition, administrative staff responds to public inquiries for information.

Town Attorney

The Town Attorney ensures the Town Commission, Town Manager and staff are sufficiently aware of the legal ramifications of adopted courses of action and are educated on the avoidance of inadvertent violations of law and infringement of rights.

Development Services

The Development Services Department preserves and improves the community's quality of life, assists in planning the orderly growth of the Town through the preparation of revitalization projects and is responsible for implementing a workable enforcement program.

Public Works/Streets/Parks/Buildings

The Public Works Department provides a safe, clean, well-maintained appearance to the Town's public property and infrastructure to enhance the Town's environment.  In addition, the Public Works Department ensures all Town vehicles operate safely and economically.


Fire Department

The Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Volunteer Fire Department is responsible for fire suppression, inspection of buildings to ensure the correction of fire hazards and inventory and maintenance of the department's fire equipment.
